WWRF team contribute to new ITU report on feasibility of IMT in bands above 100 GHz
At its first meeting in 2024, ITU-R SG 5 approved a new Report ITU-R M.2541<https://www.itu.int/pub/R-REP-M.2541> on the “Technical feasibility of IMT in bands above 100 GHz”, which addresses propagation mechanisms and channel models, as well as advance technology enablers, such as active and passive components, antenna and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) techniques, Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) and deployment architectures, and the results of simulations and measurements. This report complements previous report containing studies for the frequency ranges 6-100 GHz.
WWRF team has actively supported the development of this report, from the early stages of the draft to its final version, contributing chapters on RIS, MIMO and beamforming.
