World Radiocommunication Conference 2023  (WRC)

November was a busy time for some of our executives, as they attended the World Radiocommunication Conference 2023  (WRC) in Dubai, UAE. Following the opening ceremony of the conference, where WWRF was well represented the WWRF delegation met the Secretary-General of ITU, Doreen Bogdon-Martin. The discussion that took place, and follow-up meetings also held in Dubai, will result in WWRF being more engaged with a whole range of ITU activities. The Secretary-General  acknowledged the active part WWRF is playing in ITU. Following this, on 23^rd  November, our Chair and Vice Chair of EMEA met the Director of ITU’s T-Sector, where we talked about plans for the World Telecommunications Standards Assembly (WTSA) in Delhi in October 2024. The highlight for us was on Friday 24^th November when WWRF, with support from IAFI and Forum Global, and sponsorship from CTA, Huawei and TII, held a reception for VIP guests attending WRC. During the evening WWRF presented awards to retiring Chairs of ITU Working Parties and we also recognized the work of the Chair of the Conference Preparatory Committee of WRC. Many members of the senior management team of ITU were present and all agreed that it was a very successful event.
